The lecture for young opera singers will be moderated by Dutch stage director and lecturer Hans Nieuwenhuis.

Hans Nieuwenhuis has been a jury member at a great number of important competitions in Europe, Asia and North America. He has coached many young opera singers at the beginning of their international careers as Director of Opera Studio Nederland in Amsterdam and as a guest teacher and stage director for leading young artist programs and training programs.

During his class Mr. Nieuwenhuis will work with a limited group of singers and will assist them in finding the best fragment to present at auditions and the most effective way to show talent and craftsmanship. He will not simply tell the singers what to sing, as many advisors do, but offer them a set of tools to make the right choice for him- or herself. Furthermore he will lecture about effective career planning, networking and the financial aspects of an international career. He will finish his class with practical information about the most successful opera studios and opera training programs in Europe and North America.
